General terms of sale and use

Short, readable terms, with no catches.

These terms apply to the Keypop app and its plans, whether you use it on your own or for your organisation. They are written to be understood: what is said here is what applies.

The data processing agreement (Article 28 of the GDPR) is built in.

1. Purpose and acceptance

Keypop is AI writing assistance software, published by JWDT LABS, a SAS with share capital of €1,000, SIREN 105 743 884, 20 B avenue Aristide Briand, 34170 Castelnau-le-Lez (“we”). These terms bind JWDT LABS and any person or organisation that installs Keypop or subscribes to a plan (“you”, or “the customer”).

Installing Keypop or subscribing to a plan constitutes acceptance of these terms. For an organisation, a purchase order or signed contract takes precedence over them where it supplements them.

2. The service

  • The Keypop app installs on your computer and opens in your software with a shortcut (Alt + K by default, ⌥ + K on Mac) to proofread, rephrase, dictate, summarise or write.
  • Local AI runs on your computer, without a connection. Its performance depends on your machine.
  • Sovereign cloud AI, included in the Pro plan, is hosted in Paris. How it works and its guarantees are described on the Privacy and data page, which forms part of these terms.

AI replies can contain errors. Keypop suggests, you decide: always reread a text before sending it, especially if it engages your liability or your organisation’s.

3. Plans and prices

PlanPrice per month excl. VATWhat’s included
Free€0Unlimited local AI, voice dictation, works without internet, in all your apps
Pro€7.99 (yearly: €5.99)Everything in Free, sovereign cloud AI; connectors (Outlook, Gmail, Calendar) and job-specific actions coming soon

Prices exclude taxes; applicable VAT is added. Pro cloud AI is meant for normal, human, common-sense use: that of a person writing for their work, not of a program. We may change our prices: a new price only applies from the next period, after at least 30 days’ notice, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

4. Ordering and payment

  • Monthly: paid in advance each month.
  • Yearly: paid in advance for 12 months, at the reduced monthly price shown.
  • Team: a single payment for all seats, and an invoice in the company’s name.

Pro trial: 7 days free, once per person. Your card is saved by our payment provider, without being charged. We email you 2 days before the trial ends. If you don’t cancel before the end, the plan you chose starts and its first payment is taken. You can cancel at any time in the app settings.

Promo codes: a code’s discount applies to every billing period until we end it; we will then email you before the discount stops. With a 100% code, no card is required.

A compliant invoice is issued for each payment. If a payment fails, we follow up for a week; if it still isn’t paid, your account then goes back to the Free plan, and local AI keeps working. For business customers, the late payment penalties and the €40 fixed debt recovery fee provided for by the French Commercial Code apply.

5. Term, changing plans, cancellation

MonthlyYearly
CommitmentNone12 months
RenewalEvery month, automaticallyEvery year, automatically
CancellationAt any time, effective at the end of the current monthAt any time before renewal, effective at the end of the current year

When a subscription ends, you simply go back to the Free plan: local AI keeps working, and there is no text to retrieve from us since we don’t store any.

We may terminate in the event of a serious breach of these terms, after formal notice that has gone unheeded for 15 days.

6. Cloud AI usage

Pro cloud AI never locks you out: if your usage goes beyond normal use, Keypop offers to carry on with local AI or to pick up again the next day. Nothing is ever billed on top of your plan.

7. Your content

  • The text, voice and instructions you submit, as well as the replies produced for you, belong to you. We acquire no rights over them.
  • We only use them to provide you with the service, for the time it takes to reply, and never to train or improve an AI model.
  • We don’t store them and we have no access to them.

Keypop, its software, its brand and its predefined actions remain the property of JWDT LABS. You have a personal right of use (or, for a team, for each seat subscribed), non-exclusive and non-transferable, for the duration of your plan. The built-in open AI models remain subject to their own licences.

8. Data processing agreement (DPA)

When a business customer has personal data processed by cloud AI, it is the controller of that data and JWDT LABS acts as processor within the meaning of Article 28 of the GDPR. In this context, we undertake to:

  • process the data solely to provide the service, on the customer’s documented instructions (these terms and its settings);
  • not retain it beyond the processing time, use it for any other purpose, or transfer it outside the European Union;
  • ensure the confidentiality of anyone authorised to work on the service;
  • implement the security measures described on the Privacy and data page;
  • use only the listed subprocessors, and inform the customer at least 30 days before any change, with the option to object and to terminate;
  • help the customer respond to data subject requests and carry out impact assessments, and notify it without undue delay, and at the latest within 48 hours, of any data breach affecting it;
  • make available to it the information needed to demonstrate these commitments, and allow a reasonable audit with prior notice.
Subject matter: writing assistance. Data: content of the text and voice submitted by users. Data subjects: users and people mentioned in the text. Duration: the time it takes to reply. Subprocessor: Scaleway SAS, Paris. A signed version of this DPA is available on request at support@keypop.io.

9. Team terms

The Team plan, for businesses only, opens soon. It gives Pro to every seat, with:

  • a single payer and a single invoice, in the company’s name and with its VAT number;
  • seats assigned, removed or reassigned by email;
  • a price per seat, shown on the pricing page when it opens.

Its detailed terms will be published here before it opens.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Keypop to produce unlawful content, not to try to circumvent the service’s limits or access cloud AI by any means other than the app, and not to resell access. Access is personal. You also agree not to call the cloud AI through scripts or automated requests: abnormal use may be slowed down or suspended.

11. Availability and support

We do our best to keep cloud AI available at all times, with no availability guarantee. Local AI does not depend on our servers. Support is provided by email at support@keypop.io.

12. Liability

Keypop is an assistance tool: you remain responsible for the text you send or publish. Towards a business customer, our liability is limited to direct damage and capped at the amounts paid over the last 12 months. These limits do not apply in the event of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, nor to breaches of our commitments regarding data.

13. Consumers

If you subscribe as a consumer, you have a right of withdrawal of 14 days from the date of subscription. By requesting immediate access to cloud AI, you agree that the service begins before this period ends; if you withdraw, only the portion already used remains payable. In the event of a dispute, you can refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator, whose contact details will be provided to you on request.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. We always favour an amicable solution. Between businesses, any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Montpellier.

We may change these terms; any significant change will be announced to you at least 30 days in advance.
